Here's a proposal for how a practice group could be set up.

Contents

Purpose

To learn NVC both through understanding the process and through practising it - knowing and doing.
To achieve this through the creation of a mutually supportive, sharing community.

Meets needs for: learning, nvc fluency, developing an understanding of nvc, practice, support, community, equality, sharing, inspiration, "giraffe fuel", fun, clarity of purpose

Method

Because we value deepening and developing our learning as well as applying it:
 * Create a balance between structured learning sessions and live practice
 * Set out a learning programme for the year and work roughly to that
 * Or that can be a resource to select items from for facilitating sessions.

Meets needs for: learning, development, growth, balance, planning, purpose, progress, choice, empathy, support, variety, stimulation

Commitments

To agree some basic things that would help the group to function. Such as:
 * Confidentiality (everything expressed in sessions remains confidential)
 * Attendance (letting people know in advance if they are coming to a session or not),
 * Sharing facilitation and equality (for example, making a facilitation rota well
in advance that involves everyone in the group),
 * Facilitation - (open to diversity of styles, acceptance of those)
 * Membership (all to agree if new people are invited)
(pre-requisite - Foundation course as minimum, or equivalent),
(maximum and minimum numbers - suggest 3-10),
 * Agree how we plan our learning programme.

Meets needs for: safety, trust, clarity, support, competence, consistency, sharing, equality, inclusiveness, community, commitment, acceptance

Learning Programme

There's plenty of material to draw upon to structure a course of learning. So one task is to survey that and come up with an initial programme. We can deepen the structure as we progress. Later we can draw upon the advanced material available that Marshall presents on courses, and for variety we can also draw upon some of the key material that he continually refers to - (Walter Wink, Margret Mede, Alfie Kohn...) that is seldom looked at.

Meets needs for: learning, curiosity, stimulation, structure, depth, breadth, excitement, development.
